The role of Sub County cricket is to provide an environment where young cricketers have the ability to play in a standard above club cricket and the squads bridge the gap into County age group cricket. To provide County age group managers with a more structured programme from which they can base their selections for the following season.
Sub County cricket is played at ages U12 and U13, in three zones: North, Central, South and U14 in two zones: North and South.
The summer-based programme comprises of fixtures and training, with nominations provided through cricket clubs and trials taking place at the start of May. High performing players at Sub County level are nominated by their managers for County Trials at the end of the summer.
