Umpires/Scorers Courses
Aspiring umpires and scorers will get the chance to learn the required skills in the surroundings of Trent Bridge when courses start at the ground in the New Year.
The courses are tailored to both beginners (ECB Level 1) and umpires with limited experience looking to secure the relevant qualifications (ECB Level 1 A).
Both courses run for ten weeks from Monday 11 January at 7:30pm in the evening, with registration taking place from 7pm on the first date.
For anyone unable to get to Trent Bridge, Cuckney Cricket Club will be holding the same courses with beginners (or people who have an ECB Level 1 qualification) starting at the same time and date (Monday 11 January).
However, the course designed for level one umpires will run on Wednesday nights from January 13 at 7:30pm, for eight weeks instead of ten.
Scorers will get the tutelage of Nottinghamshire’s Second Team and Academy scorer Anne Cusworth, in a six-week course running from Sunday 10 January at 10am, with registration from 9:30am on the first morning.
All courses cost £30 with the price including a workbook and the assessment at the end for the relevant award.
The courses at both venues are free to under 18s in full-time education and include the opportunity to apply or renew a DBS accreditation, which is essential for all umpires and scorers.
