Win A Signed Swann Shirt
Former Nottinghamshire and England spinner Graeme Swann has praised the work done by his former County in the community as the start of the 2016 season draws ever closer.
Swann took 255 wickets for England at Test level and believes Nottinghamshire provides one of the best platforms for future stars to flourish.
“I am so proud of Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club for what they actually do, not just at the County but in the community too,” he said whilst speaking at the Victoria Embankment.
“They are magnificent, they are truly a first class county and this is all of their own back, they decided to create a legacy for the Club and the town and this is the result so I am really proud of them.
“It is very important to put something back in to a community which gives the Club so much.
“I don’t think it is just cricket, a facility like this will encourage people to actually get out and participate in sport, have the facilities to be able to do it, take the excuse away if you like.
“With falling numbers in sport I think it is important that every effort is made to get people out and playing at a facility like the Field of Dreams.”
