Excellent finals day at Kimberley rounds off tremendous first competition.
The finals of the first ever NatWest Under 19 Nottinghamshire T20 event concluded yesterday with an excellent finals day at Kimberley Institute Cricket Club. The day kicked off with a semi-final between Wollaton Warriors and Notts & Arnold Allstars which the Allstars won thanks largely to an impressive all-round performance from Liam Patterson-White.
The Allstars opponents in the final were the Plumtree Plumdog's who had a bye to the final as Papplewick were unable to take part in the day. The Allstars batted first and posted 119 for 6 in their twenty overs with skipper Jordan Finney top-scoring with 27 and Declan Marks leading the Plumdog attack with 2-14.
Man of the Match Marks also enjoyed his day with the bat as he hit an unbeaten 50 from 33 balls supported by Danyal Bazmi with 36 not out as the Plumdogs reached their target in the 16th over to record a nine wicket win. You can see a full scorecard from the final by clicking here.
Nottinghamshire's Club Support Officer Keith Tongue praised the clubs who taken part "This first year of the competition has been a huge success and we hope that more clubs will get involved next year. All the clubs have bought into the T20 spirit with music, barbecues and creating a superb atmosphere for the players to play in. I would also like to thank Kimberley for hosting such a great finals day."
