Women's Indoor League Round Two
Notts All-Stars and Notts Finest were the two convincing winners during the second round of the Women’s Indoor League, the former continuing their unbeaten start to the season.
Both sides won all four of their skins to go to easy 73-run and 185-run wins respectively as the two teams sit in the top two spots after the first couple of weeks.
Notts All-Star 142 - 69 Plumtree
The All-Stars were the first to go to victory, outplaying Plumtree Ladies across the match. They continued where they started last week with each pair of batters scoring between 23-45 runs during their skin, the combined total of 147 proving too much for Plumtree to overcome.
Emma Bird and Kate Davis gave it a good shot with 19 and 18 runs respectively but this wasn't enough as they ended the game on 69, the All-Stars taking their second victory of the tournament.
Notts Finest 198 - 13 UNLCC
The 8pm game was dominated from the off by Notts Finest, the side bouncing back in emphatic style from their opening week loss to cruise to victory over Nottingham University Ladies. Each Notts Finest batter hit an individual score of over 17 whilst Georgie Boyce, who is part of England Women’s Development Programme this winter, hit six maximums on her way to a personal total of 57.
Nottingham University struggled throughout with the absence of some key players and despite a solid knock of 17 from Sara Dimmock, due to the loss of wickets they could only muster 13 in reply to the 198 Notts Finest posted.
