Nottinghamshire Recreational Cricket is delighted to announce that a county-wide Disciplinary Group has been formed along with the enactment of overarching disciplinary regulations to help ensure consistency and fairness is applied across all leagues in the recreational game.
The Nottinghamshire Premier League, Bassetlaw & District Cricket League, Mansfield & District Cricket League, and Gunn & Moore South Nottinghamshire Cricket League have all adopted the new set of regulations, moulding four sets of formerly different rules into one uniform approach through consultation with relevant stakeholders.
The disciplinary process in the county has been strengthened by the creation of a panel that will oversee the most serious cases – alleged offences at Levels 3 and 4 of the ECB Code of Conduct, and all appeals. The various Leagues’ disciplinary committees will continue to manage their own Level 1 and 2 cases.
To provide added integrity, a Chair and Vice-Chair with professional legal expertise have been appointed to the panel. David Foster, the Chair-elect, previously held the Head of Legal position at Boots before his recent retirement, and is a member of the MCC. The new Vice-Chair, Luc Chignell, is a criminal barrister practising from 1 High Pavement Chambers in Nottingham, and is also the Chair of our very own Newark Ransome & Marles Cricket Club.
A pool of league-nominated panellists will support the Chair and Vice-Chair. We would like to thank all of these volunteers for coming forward. These panellists are as follows:
