Former Nottinghamshire Cricket Board Chairman -
The funeral of Geoff Gooch, the former Chairman of the Nottinghamshire Cricket Association/Board, will take place on Monday 31 July from 11:45am at Bramcote Crematorium, followed by a gathering at Attenborough Cricket Club.
Mr Gooch (pictured with former England captain Mike Gatting) served as president of the Nottinghamshire Premier League and at Attenborough Cricket Club and was a well-known player, umpire and administrator.
He was also the driving force behind establishing what has now become a thriving Junior section at the Club and the current Attenborough Club Chairman was one of his early colts.
A member of the Nottinghamshire General Committee from 1998 until his retirement in 2011, he was also Chairman of the Nottinghamshire Cricket Association/Board from 1993 to 2003.
His involvement in Nottinghamshire cricket was even more wide-ranging as he managed the Schools Under 19s at two cricket festivals and administered the 'NatWest Test Award' scheme in the Chilwell and Beeston area.
