Age Group Presentation Evenings -
Raheem Ahmed headed the list of winners at the end of season County Age Group Awards at Trent Bridge this week.
Ahmed was the inaugural winner of the Bill Tomlinson Young Cricket of the Year award, named after the former President of Fiskerton Cricket Club who died last December.
Bill established the Notts Cricket Coaches Association in the 1970s and enthused the likes of Rob Wood, Stuart Burrows and John Holland along with many other coaches.
Between them, they developed the County representative teams providing opportunities for Nottinghamshire boys to play a high grade of cricket not previously available to them.
Ahmed was the worthy recipient of the award after notching over 500 runs and more than 20 wickets this season.
Other winners include Jordan Cook, who has represented the Midlands this summer and is the leading wicket taker for Nottinghamshire’s Academy, and Ellie Bradbury, who has just joined up with the England indoor side for the upcoming World Cup in Dubai.
