'Approved' List Of Under 12s Allowed To Play
From the 2016 season a small group of under 12 cricketers will get the chance to play in open age cricket after a change in policy from Nottinghamshire Cricket Board.
The Board’s Player Pathway Development Officer will be responsible for identifying which players are assessed as fit and ready to play in open age cricket.
This decision will be based on the players’ skills & abilities, cricket experience, stage of cognitive & emotional development and their future potential playing levels.
The ‘Approved List’ will appear on the Nottinghamshire Cricket Board website at the beginning of each season.
The Board’s Player Pathway Development Officer will monitor the under 12’s squad during the playing season.
If a player not on the ‘Approved List’ develops during the playing season in such a way that they ought to be included on the list then their name will be added, published and circulated.
The player and a parent/guardian must give explicit written consent to play in open age cricket, the same process any year eight player (under 13 years of age on August 31 2015) has to undertake.
