Money For Clubs -
Nottinghamshire sport clubs and athletes are encouraged to apply for grants from Nottinghamshire County Council’s Sports Fund.
The Sports Fund aims to increase participation in sports by providing financial support to local clubs for the development of new and existing coaches, volunteers and talented athletes.
The first scheme, Club Development, is a two-year plan, which includes a Sports Participation grant of up to £1000, aimed at increasing participation in sports and increasing the diversity of its members. Volunteer Development grants of up to £250 will be used to encourage people to volunteer at sports clubs and gain recognised qualifications. Coaching bursaries up to £400 will train qualified level 1 and level 2 coaches.
The second scheme, Talented Athletes, will aim to provide grants of up to £400 to cover training fees, travel costs and accommodation for competing athletes. The grant is awarded to athletes who have represented their country in a sport recognised by Sport England within the last eight months and/or ranked in the top five nationally in their age group.
The closing date for the Sports Funds Application is 5pm on Monday 1 August 2016.
