Experian Eights Cup Rules
The existing Evening League rules would apply with
the exception of the following: -
Each team will consist of eight Players.
A
game shall not start where either team has less
than six players.
The game will consist of 14 overs for each side.
The captains shall agree the number of balls per
over which may be from six to eight balls.
The batting bonus points will be adjusted
accordingly.
The away team bats first. This is to allow the
home team to complete the score sheet '
on the night' and thus enable it to be sent in
promptly.
The home team sends in the Result Sheet.
Each player apart from the wicket keeper shall
bowl two overs.
Note: Special attention should be paid to the
bowling order, under no circumstances
will a bowler be allowed to bowl two consecutive
overs.
In the event of a team fielding less than eight
players the opposing team captain shall
nominate players to bowl one over each until 14
overs are completed.
The player nominated may bowl only one additional
over.
When a batsman reaches a score of 20 he shall
then retire. A retired batsman may
resume batting when the last wicket of the innings
has fallen. In the case of more than
one retired batsman resuming an innings the
original batting order shall be maintained.
The points awarded shall be the same as the
existing Evening League rules with the
exception that a bowling point shall be awarded
when six or seven batsmen
have been dismissed.
A
batting bonus point shall be awarded for teams
scoring at or more than 0.875
runs per ball.
In the event of a game being postponed the game
must be played within the next
two weeks. This is because there is a tight
schedule and the semi-finalists must
be determined by the end of week 11.
At the semi-final stage the team finishing 1st in
the league table shall play the team
finishing 4th and the team finishing 2nd shall play
the team finishing 3rd.
To be eligible to play in the semi-final and
final a player must have played in at least
4 games of the League section of the competition.

To
be eligible to play in the semi-final and final a
player must have played in at least half
of the games of the League section of the
competition.

In the event of scores being level at the end of a
semi-final or final game each bowler
shall bowl one ball at a wicket. Teams shall
alternate the bowlers as follows:-
Team A Bowler 1 Team B Bowler 1
Team A Bowler 2 Team B Bowler 2
Etc until all bowlers have bowled.
The
team that hits the wicket the most number of times
shall be the winner.
If
the scores are still level repeat 1
The
teams participating in the final shall provide a
new ball and a competent scorer.
