The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) is committed to achieving equality within cricket and relies for the delivery of its policies on all those involved at all levels of the game.  As a result, there are certain actions that the Nottinghamshire Cricket Board must take and that your club, as an affiliated member of both the NCB and ECB should also be implementing.

DID YOU KNOW THAT

You should have an open membership policy and it should be written
into your club constititution?

Here is the wording you should use:

"Membership shall be open to all irrespective of age, gender, disability, race, ethnic origin, creed, colour, social status and sexual orientation.  you are now required to have this wording in place by 1st April 2003."

You should display the following statements in
club publications on notice boards etc.

"Players, officials, members, supporters and employees must adhere to the Club Code of Conduct which prohibits racially abusive comments and actions against fellow players, officials, members, supporters and employees.  Failure to comply with this instruction will result in disciplinary action being taken against the offender(s) as specified in the Club Constitution.

The Racial Equality Forum of the NCB has drawn up an Action Plan for the County. Copies are available from Ron Lafbery on 0115 961 6827
