A team of talented youngsters from Fountaindale School are preparing to bowl over the competition at the finals of a national table cricket tournament.  For the seven teenagers from the school for disabled children, will be travelling down to London to compete in the Lord's Taverners competition this June after getting through the regional semi-finals held at Trent Bridge.

Their coach, Kate Hill, who teaches PE At Foundaindale, said "They are all really pleased to get through, especially two of the boys who are leaving the school after this year"

Table Cricket

Table cricket is a game designed for children with severe disabilities.
Played on a table tennis table or a flat surface, the game enables severely disabled children to play the game of cricket with dignity.

The game is aimed at the under nineteen age group this 6 - a - side game
offers youngsters the chance to develop teamwork, sportsmanship and new skills in a fun and enjoyable environment.

We can offer your school a series of visits from one of our staff to
introduce the game or if your school already plays table cricket,
developing players existing skills could be an alternative.

Each year the opportunity is available for one school to
represent Nottinghamshire in the Table Cricket National Final at Lords.

If you are interested in finding out more, please phone Eddie Burke
at Trent Bridge on 0115 982 3000.
